Feast of Fools. What a DAY!
Feast of Fools, who knew one group could cram so much activity into one day and NOT have any Marshall activities at all!
Keep up now please....
All I can say is WOW what a day! It was one wild ride!
Thank you to
khatun and Magnus for guiding this event through a tough time. I recognized this Herculean effort by awarding each an "Augean Stable".
The Viking Opera by Mistress Ingvild and Lord Owen, who knew Vikings could SING and ACT!
The Bardic Bear Pit, a great contest that brought out all sorts of performers!
Our newest peers, Pelicans who are Cordelia, Mistress Jeanne, and Chagan, ok Mistress Jeanne was already a peer but the look on all of their faces was priceless when Her Majesty popped the question to each at different times during the day!
Making folks in Bright Hills cook food for their own vigils fools em' every single time!
Her Majesty
bronx_baroness made a fantastic choice to elevate these three ladies together! They have been friends and work mates in the SCA for many many years. This was a natural and right thing to do.
Pearl, Owen Sherard Trehern, this was a most welcome and well deserved accolade. He has inspired many of in the arts we do. His woodworking, blacksmithing, leather working, and bone & antler carving are beyond compare.
Lady Saligzy Margit is the newest recipient of the Bright Hills Spirit Cup.
Archery advancements were announced by Lord Seamus.
Lady Sweizka Kaim, Lord Albrecht Kreiner, and Lord Stephen Bridewell were recognized with induction in the Order of St. Barbara for their long term service to the Barony.
Vivats for Ladia Livia for not only acting as merchant coordinator but for stepping up and running the "Men in Tights" fundraiser for Colon-Rectal Cancer Research. There were many splendiforus manly legs on display but a BIG vivat goes to "Shamless" McRae for his win as Best Man In Tights! Over $350.00 was raised!
Thank you to Mistress Anne for coordinating a very touching memorial table for Baroness Ro.
Thank you to
alina_s and Lady Ingeborg who ran after me all day. I have no idea how I would survive with out the help of those who volunteer to retain, er, wrangle me.
Lord Karchar The Blue Eyed and Lord Alexander Fowler were the Kings of misrule and looked very fetching in their crowns!
Congratulations to Bors for his first stint as Court Herald. You stayed cool calm and collected with all of the last minute changes. Well done!
Thank you to Bruce the Robert and his cooks for a wonderful feast. You all were fantastic even though we were under foot all day outside of your kitchen with the vigil area.
Lady Tsura made the magic happen again with her hall decorations. Congratualtions on being awarded your AoA.
We have new nobility-
Lady Bella and Lord Alexander Hunter were awarded AoA's
alscott93 was made a full herald. It's hard to gulp water when the peanut gallery is chanting you on....
Dame Olwen was recognized for her amazing embroidered peerage scrolls with a Silver Nautilus.
It was announced that Baroness Roanna de Laci had been made a member of the Order of the Golden Dolphin prior to her passing. The scroll and medallion were presented to her family.
Many thank yous are in order for the members of House Wulfshaven for being on site early to set signs, unload trucks and clean up. Your many hands made for light work and we were able to leave the hall before Midnight! Also many thanks to Wulfshaven for supplying the Vigil tent and for acting as guards for the vigils that were held all day. Your participation made the day special for all of the candidates.
I have to say that in all the things I do in the SCA, being allowed to be your Baroness has been the most rewarding. You are good people who work together through hard times and even personal differences. You all realize that working for the good of the barony is what makes Bright Hills an active and strong group and I thank you. It's why so many come to play with us regularly.
