The local landfill has an outbuilding where you can leave reusable items to be taken for free. Stuff like furniture, building supplies, household items etc. The only things they don't accept are upholstered furniture and clothes.

It's a good place to pick up or leave a treasure. I like to leave stuff that the charity shops won't take but still have a useful life.
