Coming down to the wire.

I've only got 15 rows left to knit. Then the draw string and the tassles are the last to make.
Maybe I'll be finished by the weekend. We'll see.

So [livejournal.com profile] caemfind, where can I buy more crack...er, kits?

And this is how I keep myself straight on the pattern.
(I copy the whole width of the pattern onto card stock and mark it out with a black marker as I go)

I have a bunch of them.....which one is next?

Yes indeed, Miguel has loads of them! Your purse is looking great! When I knit stuff like this I use a magnet board to keep track of it. I never thought of doing what you're doing but that works fine too and you don't have to worry about the magnet slipping!

That is just lovely! I have not tried 2-color work yet. Knit picks has a *GORGEOUS* sweater vest 2-color pattern for $1.29 too. I may have to try a small project like this to get my feet wet!!!

Normally I use a highlighter when doing counted embroidery work but I was getting off count and went to blocking out the previous row entirely.

I agree go with a small project first. You get instant gratification.

Which ones ya got?

What I do

[identity profile] weaverrhi.livejournal.com 2009-01-26 04:37 pm (UTC)(link)
I actually do a combination of both... I make a copy of my pattern and use a metal board with magnets (or I tape it to the board) and then I use a marker or pen to mark through each line of the pattern.. I can't keep track otherwise.

Also, if it's a pattern that has a repeat, I'll make two copies and then cut and paste the repeat into the appropriate place so I can mark through each line.

There's something satisfying about looking at a pattern that's mostly black lined and KNOW you're almost done! Progress is my friend!
