martelvoncspring cleaning.
As my readers may have noticed I do this every...single...year. I'm kinda like the swallows returning to Capistrano or the daffodils comin' up outta the ground. I do it because I have to. Clearing out the clutter makes it all right in my crazy little world.
SO as mentioned this morning, today saw me clearing out the hall linen closet. It is a small closet. Narrow and tall. So I says "where are some bins and I will empty the closet" and then store the towels, blankets, and bedsheets back where they rightfully belong. Ah, textiley goodness that is now a proper linen closet is almost too much to bear. So I filled one bin...and then another... and finally a THIRD! Plus the stuff that is perched precariously on top of each bin! WTF???? How did all that junk fit into that LITTLE closet???
I am appalled at the sheer amount of junk that spewed out of that space.
But I am more appalled that I now have to sort out all THREE LARGE bins. *head*desk*head*desk*
On a happier homeowner note The Knight fixed the toilet in the kids bathroom so that it no longer randomly fills as the water leaks into the bowl. My water bill should drop to a normal amount next quarter. We also did not have to pay a plumber an exorbitant price to do it for us. Money saved! Hooray!
He also replaced the toilet seat in that bathroom and the basement powder room. (Those seats were horrors too horrible to recount here). I have been embarrassed to have people use the kids bathroom because of the state of the toilet and the seat.
(NOOOOOOOOO!!! FOR ALL THAT IS HOLY DON'T LIFT THE LID!!!)
Now all is right in that world too! My hubby is the best!!!
A new toilet seat is like buying new throw pillows. Not a lot of money spent but you get plenty of decorating bang for your buck.
My next project will be Wednesday when I take our old books to the "Book Thing" in Baltimore. They are only open for donations and volunteering on Wednesdays but not for getting. But I'm very good with that as right now I'm supposed to be de-cluttering and not bringing new stuff in.
On to Wednesday!!
