More Needlework blather.....
Jun. 10th, 2005 09:09 amLast night as I was going through hobby stuff, I realised I have been doing embroidery both mundanely and in the SCA for 25 years now. I've had crafts come and go across my worktable and I have enjoyed every last one of them but embroidery has been my favorite. For the life of me I have no idea what it is about it that gives me that right brain mode feeling.
I have very little of what I have made over the years. Mostly I give it away to others. On my walls are only 7 framed pictures and then a collection of SCA work that I do still have. I have no idea what I've sent on to other places.
Hmmmm, Is the fact that you like to give it away the sign of a good hobby? I'm determined to make somethings for myself but I'm not betting on how much I will end up keeping. When I start to think about what I would like to make next, the gears grind and the idea turns into "hey, I could make this for so and so" :-)
If you see me and I don't seem to have any needlework, it's not from lack of trying.....
