Well, once again Bright Hills shows that making the proper sacrifices to the gods does indeed payoff. The weather was beautiful all weekend for our event "All Things Marshal" I believe at the last count we had a total attendance of 218.

We had a day packed full of Marshal and Minister of the List classes and 3 gentles studied hard all day and earned their standard first aid certificates. The instructor, our own Deborah Morrison, and I presented the certificates in court that evening. We also had popular classes in Beginning tablet weaving, dog carting and period wheeled vehicles.

The Baron and Baroness were quite impressive as they rode in court on handsome horses followed the other notables of the equestrian community. We were graced with the presence of the Society Marshal of the Horse as well as Donwenna Beasthealer who taught classes in scoring IKEC events and how to run these types of cavalry events.

The A&S display was, as always, filled with amazing handcrafts. The artisans who put on items on display show a higher level of expertise every time they attend. In keeping with the theme of the event Richard Wynn donated his time and effort to make wonderful full sized cut outs of armored soldiers to decorate our hall.

Here are some photos in my Yahoo Album:

The first ever Baronial Equestrian Champion was chosen this weekend. Unlike our other Baronial Champions that are chosen in October at our event "TNT". This Champion will be chosen at All Things Marshal. I think that we have a Baronial Equestrian Champion is SO cool!

I didn't camp this year since we were just getting back from vacation but next year I want to stay on site.
We held the event at the Fair Hill Equestrian center. It was an area owned by the DuPont Family and purcahsed by the State in 1975. Many notable equestrian events are held here and it is a beautiful and well maintained site. The cavalry people were VERY happy with the facilities at Fairhill and have said they would love to come here again.

Maybe it should be condsidered as a new site for Kingdom Crusades.

Ah I am tired to the bone but it was well worth it as this event has the potential to be long running and very fun!
