It was a good day.
Apr. 22nd, 2007 06:19 amYesterday I attended Kingdom Archery Championship in the Shire of Roxbury Mill. I had a great time. I did not shoot but I supported our archers and really enjoyed watching the competition. There were 60 archers competing! That is one impressive number. There were archers of all ages! I'd say the youngest archer was 7 years old.
The archers of Bright Hills made a grand showing and of the top 8 finalists 3 were Bright Hillians! Our own Lord Seamus McRay took the day and is once again the Kingdom Archery Champion! The finals were very exciting and those who made it were really the best of the best. We are looking forward to hosting the championship next year.
The weather was sunny and warm and breezes blew all day. The site, the Issac Walton League Wildlife Achievement Chapter was very nice. I've heard the only real problem with the site is the limited water. They are apparently on a well system and you need to be sure to bring in water if you will be there. It was well maintained and very relaxing.
Our site fee included a good lunch of quiche, bread, cheeses, apples (with the cheddar cheese, yum!) and a veggie soup. The feast was wonderful and had savory toasted cheese, mushroom and cheese pie, chicken and rice with pine nuts, minted peas, salad, and a treat I've not had in forty forever's- Syllabub! It was a good meal, with lots of food, reasonable in price and I did not have to cook! Thank you
duchessmel!
If you have not attended a Kingdom Archery Championship you are missing a real gem.
