Thinking Deep Thoughts Deeply.
Nov. 16th, 2008 09:30 amI know a great many people in the SCA.
I only know a few people well.
Of some, I know more than maybe I should but they may rest assured I will not break their confidence.
Some people that I know in the SCA cause me to pause and to think on them a bit more deeply. The pause could come from something I've heard about a person. More often than not it comes after I observe a person do or say something and it shifts my perception of them. Usually it has to do with their ideas on chivalry, honor or responsibilities. It almost never results in my developing negative feelings about them. Just a better perspective.
I know I generally come across as loud, brash, and foolish but I do take you very seriously when I interact with you. My brain thinks on you for a while after we part. Maybe this is what is known as "making an impression".
I don't think many people know me well in the SCA. A few do. I wonder if people have thoughtful thoughts about me?
*Update: I guess what I'm trying to say is that a few people recently have tripped a need for some extra thought on my part. The thinking keeps me from making assumptions about people. I learned from my 10th grade Geometry teacher to "never assume, you'll make an "ASS" out of "U" and "ME"."
