I enjoy 12th Night. Call me crazy. The people, the courts, the feast, the schmoozing. I even get to see some rockin' A&S displays and the artisans that are up and coming. What's not to like?

I'm laid back about my projects this time. I only have one I have to have done and it will be done in about the next half hour.

I'm planning on wearing my new Byzantine. I've only worn it once before.

Yes, I know the feast is Tudor but that ain't happenin'. I'm just not that interested in wearing Tudor. It's the gabled headdress. My faithful readers and friends know how things go with me and hats.

If I get to work more on my Byzantine it will be good. I've lots left to do on it but I suspect this will be one of those outfits I'll be picking on like a turkey carcass at thanksgiving dinner for a long time. It is immensely wearable and not too shabby looking but-

It needs LOTS more pearls.
The seams all need to be hand finished. (I like doing this job. It's kind of satisfying seeing the seams neatly sewn down.)
and the superhumeral needs more bling.
and pearled brocade cuffs.
and a new linen under dress.
and a wrap/cloak for which I have to purchase material.
and brocade shoes.

I like the way it turned out. Between the linen I purchased at Pennsic and the leftover scraps of brocade [livejournal.com profile] elfsea_escapee gave me, I really like this outfit.

I'm not sure why, but lately my garb projects have been more successful. Fabric has come my way
that has just worked really well. Hopefully the trend will continue in 2009.
