the price tag always stresses me out.
We are getting the rain gutters, down spouts and the porch roof and soffit linings replaced on the house. The last straw came this weekend when a large section of the soffit lining came loose and was hanging down. Very very hillbilly looking especially with us using a ladder to hold it up to the roof. The roof is still good and does not need replacing yet. We got an estimate from Champion in Baltimore as they replaced our windows about 5 years ago and we are happy with them. Go with who ya know.
I felt better about it when the repair guy for our windows came by today and was in and out in 20 minutes after he fixed both windows and did not charge us for it. Maybe he knew the estimate guy was coming out. Good customer service that was fresh in our minds sealed the deal.
So for the sum of $2,511.00 we get the front and back gutters, rain spouts etc. replaced with seamless aluminum and the soffit and front porch roof liner problem totally repaired and they will do it in one day. No mess, no fuss. This will greatly improve the street view of our house.
It will be nice to have gutters that don't pour on us right over the front porch steps. Or gutters that drain properly and stop digging a trench behind the air conditioner in the back yard. (I was blaming it on the wild rabbits)
We are just not handy enough to handle the job ourselves. So we pay.
It would be really good to hit the lottery tonight. Here's keeping my fingers crossed.
