Okay, breath, relax, it WILL all get done.....

Last Night I completed the gold hood for the Knights outfit. The lining just needs to be hand sew around the face. This will wait until next week.

Today will see me start Paul's new outfit. under tunic, over tunic and hood. Hood will be easy peasy as he is now almost the same size as The Knight and I can use the same patterns. Yea!

My list making has started in earnest. I still need to email HRM this weekend about court business but I will wait until after I have dinner with Barre and Cordelia tomorrow night. So many things to remember and I don't know what half of things are that I'm supposed to remember. Ah, well, I'll learn it all soon enough. I have a good support system in place of past B&B's that have offered their advice and guidence.

Very important-
I need to enlist a lady or gentleman in waiting for assistance on the day though. Someone who can follow me to write things down for me all day. I am afraid I will forget lots-o-stuff I should have remembered.

Just a piece of advice or two..

If I can offer 2 pence..
Having an attendant to help you keep track of things is a good idea, but you may want to line up several folks that are willing to do this in an ongoing capacity. A couple of friends were head ladies, and after a while they got burnt since they would get volunteers that thought that attending was a breeze. when they saw it was work, they'd dissappear, or just show up in time for court.

Also, make sure if you have primarily ladies as attendants you have some male guards that will be willing and able to lug thrones, treasure boxes, etc. That will save a *lot* of headaches..

Hopefully this is redundant advice from what you have already received, so you can dismiss it at will...

I'll happily serve as a lady in waiting if you want several, although as I've already mentioned I'm going to be Late with a capital L to your investiture so I won't be very helpful there. :(

See you Thursday!

I agree, I figure that following me around is charming for about 2 events, before they realize I'm not quite as exciting as my press would lead you to believe! LOL! Shhhhhhhhhhh!

I received a very good piece of advice from Tristan
"Let people do things for you if they want to". He said he had a hard time remembering to be less independent and letting people help him when they offered.

Breathing is good. Plus remember you have me and many others there to help you when you need it. If you need a lady in waiting let me know since I'll be a bit less busy in the coming weeks.

Will you be able to go to Dun Carraig's Investiture Feb 17th? :-)

I'll be firing up a yahoo group for Baronial Household information. On it I will list my schedule (on top of the BH list and the yeoman) so that I can coordinate anyone who would like to volunteer to keep the Baronial "Firm" running. I have it set up but it won't be available for joining until later next week.

Thanks!

Will you be able to attend our event in May?

Weeeeeeee-eeeeeeellllll, the only reservation is a PAID reservation, but for you, Your Nexellency, consider it done - total is $43.50 - $18 each for adults $7.50 for 10 year old.

Drop the check in the mail.

I suspect that Ivan guy would be happy to help out in whatever way you need. I don't usually need an excuse to follow cute women around an event, but it is always helpful.

I will mail you a check for all 6 additional reservations tommorrow (Sat), With names too. I feel like a cruise director!

[identity profile] martelvonc.livejournal.com 2007-01-26 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
You are a peach! Thank you!

On the getting everything done front - remember that the only critical thing is that you show up in time for court :'} It is amazing what ca fall to the side and everyone will gush about how great every thing was. I will still be completing the heraldic garb for the next couple of months. Gosling#2 still needs the decorated neck piece for his Russian. Gosling#1 needs all of the handwork on her Italian Ren redone. [livejournal.com profile] baron_rorik needs at minimum his neckline redone (a real trick when it got cut too big at 3 am), and the sleeves on the under gowns need reworked to fit the embroidery (which I really did measure first!) But everyone told us we looked great.

You will too! And we will be there with bells on. We can hardly wait to chat hat to hat.

Remember to sleep!

Definitely--it's already on my calendar.

Yes I am resigned to the fact that only semi new garb for me but the son does get new garb since his was a higher priority.

I'd like to have a few special tokens ready but I'm not sure that will happen this time. We'll see.

I gave Yseulte a check for all six and list of name last night at FP.

Alina,

I think with the weather coming tonight we should skip. I'm still okay project wise. If I don't get a new tunic done for the son it will be okay, he can wear one of Eric's tunics.

I'm in the yeoman if you want to give me a call.
