I'm just not dedicated enough to rough out the bones! :) I use a reciprocating saw to cut out the useable bone, a Dremel to make the smaller cuts and then small files--that look a lot like those from the Tenth Century except that they are probably better quality, and the originals probably weren't marked "Made in China" (yes, I've got to file them and the nips down before the next season).
I get the bone from a but cher shop about twenty miles away. They save the largest bones they find for me and are just tickled that someone is using the bone for something other than dog toys.
I stay away from Ebay after my last encounter selling thru them.
