It is slow going.

Here is another photo of the progress I made after about 4 hours of needlework today-

Why thank you!

He is from a simple woodcut by Villard de Honne Court, dated 1235. It's in the Bibliotheque National, Paris.

The scene is of hunters, dogs barking at the lion, with the lion chained to a post. I liked the "play stance" of the lion and ignored the rest. The lion has no other significance other than I liked the way he looked.

Eventually he will have the border in silk and the background in couched gold. and everything will be outlined in pearls. I love to make covers for my SCA notebooks. :-)

Wow. He looks fabulous! It's been fun watching your progress on this project.

Does the Lion have a name yet? He's such a big part of your life - I think he needs a regal name...

It's looking good... I need a 'crash' course in embroidery lettering...

I want to make a 'mundane' type wedding gift for my niece... and part of it is embroidered... You up to the task?

See you Thursday w/ my dragon full of stuff
