I've read always believe your gut feelings.

Remember when I said I was feeling out of sorts yesterday? Well there was a reason. I think I may have been channeling all the frantic activity of my friends and family.

Yesterday at Storvik Novice Tourney their Majesties Valharic and Arielle set me on vigil for the Order of the Laurel.

I had NO idea what-so-ever because everything that went on was what we usually do at an event. We bring pavilions, we bring enough food to feed an army and all the usual folks were there.

Absolutely Everyone, and apparently this was no small group, kept the secret.

I'll post more as my brain sorts out all the data.

YAAAAAAAAY!!!! Congratulations, Your Excellency! I'm so excited for you! *bounce*bounce*

Did you hear about Molly too? She received her writ on Saturday. She will sit vigil on Sunday of War Week up on the battlefield.

Thier Majesties announced the both of on the same day because they know how much it would mean to each of us! The axis of evil Baroness! hehehe!

Oops! Thank you!

I have been writing like crazy trying to remeber as much as I can in the vigil book I was given. I know that the mom of one of apprentice sisters took lots of photos and so did Ivan.

Thank you! It still all a blur!

Thank you!

You all were SO sneaky!

Not I -
I had nothing to do with it :)

[identity profile] martelvonc.livejournal.com 2007-07-15 04:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you! I am still done in by the whole experience.

Yup. I heard about Molly too. I'm so happy for the both ofyou!

Hmm. I will be doing a lot of running back and forth on Monday, and may be just doing a drop-and-run for my A&S entry, since I am marshalling for the Archery Champions shoot at 9:30am to 3:30pm, running back to pick up the entry, and then heading back to camp to freshen up and grab items for the Known World Scribal Gathering, 5pm to 8pm - I have to set up in advance.

Care to swing by EK Royal to meet up? Or would you like to swing by the Goat Milk Party in our camp, Barony of Carillion, at O'Dark Thirty on Tuesday night?
(N10 - Bingo!) :D

Sounds familiar - I found out about an upcoming elevation for someone whose work I have long admired, during my vigil. I didn't recover until a couple of weeks later, close to his elevation (due to the aforementioned proposal), but managed to squeak out a painted box, a small personal gift, and a fun gift from Treasurecast (I think you guys know which one I'm referring to) out in 2-day mail to his acting-Laurel.

Still waiting to hear word of whether or not that one happened, but it's really exciting to hear confirmation of a friend getting recognized for their work.

Yippee!!

Hey! I can do a party! How about we meet up there?

[identity profile] ladycaviar.livejournal.com 2007-07-16 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
hahahahah I knew. I knew the last time I saw you and I didn't say nuthin'. hahahahahahha. :)

Congrats again! I am so glad I was able to see it, and help with it.

[identity profile] martelvonc.livejournal.com 2007-07-16 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
I'm glad you were there too! I hadn't gotten to see you for such a long time!

[identity profile] martelvonc.livejournal.com 2007-07-16 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
You are just too funny! :-)

Day late and a dollar short here - but I really want to tell you again how happy I am for you! I didn't find out until Thursday when I got back from my work travel - and I was hopping around the kitchen in glee when Her Majesty told me.

Well done - I only wish it could have been a bit cooler for your vigil, but at least we didn't have torrential downpours.

I am sorry that I missed it. I am so happy for you. I send you a great big congratulation HUGSs. You deserve it.

[identity profile] martelvonc.livejournal.com 2007-07-16 01:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you!

Thank you for letting Bright Hills take up so much acreage at your event. We had all four of our pavilions set up this time! 3-20x20's and the 20x40 for the royals. You'd think we were afraid of the weather!

It was a beautiful day at a really nice site. Will you be using it again?

Oh yes! No rain=good thing!

[identity profile] janinas-nest.livejournal.com 2007-07-16 05:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Actually, I was thrilled that you *had* that much tentage to use! Our baronial canvas has suffered serious damage and much was tossed at the last inventory due to excessive mold, mildew and evilness.

This is the usual site we have for Novice. They are very used to various historical groups using the site - they sponsor a Marching Through Time - like the Military Through the Ages but on a somewhat smaller scale. Over time, the mansion has been getting some really wonderful renovations, and it feels good to be helping out.

The Croom site we use for Birthday has a nice flush bathroom facility, but lacks the rolling hills aspect.

Now to get focussed on the Pensic packing - ack!

[identity profile] martelvonc.livejournal.com 2007-07-16 05:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Master Chirhart has been a wonderful Baronial Steward and we even get a friendly lecture from him if tents comeback and they are not folded correctly!

I attended the "Evil Master School of Pavilion Foldage" just before Sapphire Joust. :-)

Works for me! I found out today that Antoinette's vigil is only until 8:00pm - with one other stop planned at least beforehand, and not knowing how long vigil lines will be at 8pm, there's no guarantee I can make everyone's vigil that I want to get to.

Soooo... Yep! We can do what Brandy and I did last year, and meet up at the camp party. (Goat Milk).

Coolio. 8)

Molte congratulazioni! Perhaps we shall cross paths at Pennsic and I can give you a big conga-rat hug then!
