I had a really good time.

Yesterday I attended Baronial Birthday in Dun Carraig with
alina_s,
ladyrowensplace, and
anne_rose. I had a really nice day. This was the first event I have attended since Storvik Novice tournament in July that I had no responsibilities or commitments.
Don't get me wrong I love to work at events but once in a while it's lovely to get to sit, work on my projects and schmooze with my other A&S buddies.
The site was the Isack Walton League in Waldorf, MD. It had a nice 3 room hall and the A&S was set up in the center room with fantastic lighting. I was able to work all day with no eye strain what so ever. Even the tables and chairs were a good height to set my embroidery frame on and I got no back strain.
thatpotteryguy was not merchanting this time but had a very interesting display of a period day set-up where he cooked over charcole with his pots and brasier. It is one thing to see an image in a illumination but much more usefull to see the use of small cooking in person. I may just have to give one of his braisiers a try.
orlacarey and Tirzah sat beside me a worked on their lace later in the day. They also made the bestest desserts for high table. Seeing that it was
molly_world's birthday, Orla and Tirzah and their many helpers made shoes out of sugar paste on top of cake "shoeboxes"! There were very detailed and cute as all get out!
molly_world was a gracious and funny hostess along with her hubby the Most Excellent Baron Erwin. I was even asked to sit at their high table for dinner!
I came home full from the feast and very happy for the laid back social day that I had.
