KASF was all that and a bag of chips!
Mar. 6th, 2008 05:41 pmNow that I'm done catching up I'll give my bit of thought of KASF this past weekend.
Let me say this is one of my favorite SCA events. Ever.
This year
stitchwhich and
isenglass did a great job of designing the hall set up. It made better sense this year and all the display/competition areas were easily accessable. That and court used the stage and I could go on and on.
I saw so many wonderful displays I hardly know where to start. I am very happy to see the general quality going up on what people are doing and the sheer variety!
Let's see-
Horn carving
knitting
glass work
book binding
furniture making
clay oven baking, on site!
outdoor cooking demo
embroidery
roman clothing PP
german childrens studies PP
mosaics
baking
brewing
beading
toys
Maritime medicine
German costuming
Dance
Bardic
illumination
calligraphy
a children's wood block set
metal casting
weaving
spinning
research on cotton in period
cheesemaking, yum!
Nalbinding
felting
Maritime navigation instruments
block printing on cloth
crossbows
Russian clothing
blackwork
armoring
and on and on and on! If you are in need of inspiration for what to do in the SCA or to jump start your own creative juices again. This event is truly the one to attend. Hmmm, I need to write it in for next year!
