The Spring 2008 Haus Charlottenburg purge continues!

Today saw me moving my desk out of the dining room and into the basement. I got tired of seeing the mayhem and foolishness that was my desk right next to where I needed to eat. Beside all my crafts and SCA projects and research books are all in the basement. Having my desk near all that only made sense.

We are purging bits and bobs slowly but surely. This Thursday I will be-
1) going to the NESAP shop to drop off 3 bags of clothes,
2) the Swap Shop at the landfill to leave an old chair and a fireplace mantle,
3) the dump part of the landfill to get rid of the old fireplace parts,
4) Walmart to get two more clear storage bins for winter clothes and Erica "crap"
5) load the truck for ToC on Saturday.

busy busy busy!

I keep repeating a quote I heard a while ago,
"If you had to move tomorrow, would you really want to take it with you?"
If the truthful answer is no, then out it goes.

I like that criterion! My big question is "will I actually use it in a timely fashion, or will it just take up space and further my frustration?" That just got me to sort through four bags of hand me down baby clothes - now happily at home in drawers, in labeled boxes, or back in the bags to go get sold at our local kids used clothes store. Even better? My husband didn't complain when I told him he needed to find somewhere to stick 6 boxes of clothes!

Wow, baby clothes. I know how hard they are to purge through. But it has to be done.
Go you for selling some on consignment!

Clothes, man that is one thing my husband can hold on to. The problem is he buys stuff on sale at Walmart which is not necessarily a problem but he won't give up any old stuff.

This weekend when we pulled out the summer clothes I put my foot down and made him purge out clothing I know he does not wear. That's where two of the bags came from!

"MADE HIM purge out..."

Lol... MAKING my husband do something? Ha! I knew you had special secret powers, but I didn't know Husband Control was among them! Wow! ;)
