Another year has come and gone. For us 2008 was not bad at all.
I have a lot to be grateful for-

My family is safe and happy.
We have friends who gave us fun and joy.
We are dealing with the recession pretty well so far.
The kids are both in college.
I have a great dog.
Except for the usual colds not one of us went to the hospital this year.
I had a great time in the SCA.

What did I accomplish this year?
Well I, in no particular order,-

*finished my Opus Anglicanum Lion.
*learned how to do redimentary nalbinding and have completed a pouch.
*started an exercise program.
*got about 3/4 of our books recorded on Library Thing.
*took on two rockin' apprentices.
*attended my first Pretty Pretty Princess Party.
*went back to work full time.
*cleared out more clutter and organized the basement.
*was asked to speak as a member of the Order of the Laurel at an elevation for the very first time!
*lost 12 pounds and have kept them off.
*finally broke down and hired regular lawn service, and THEY ROCK!
*took up target archery in the SCA.
*cleared out my old SCA stuff
*cleared out my sewing stash.
*cleared out my craft stash.
*was honored to be allowed to embroider two hand washing towels and collaborate on another for elevations to the peerage.
*got my SCA and household filing under control and into filing racks.
*finished 4 years of homeschooling my son and saw him off to college!
*knit a pair of fingerless gloves without a pattern!

My plans for 2009 include-

*continue working on the later period Turkish embroidery piece I have started.
*continue work on my new Elizabethan book cover project.
*have the previous two projects done enough for display at KASF and Spring Crown Tournament Tempore Atlantia.

*finish my first pair of nalbinded socks and start another pair.
*finish the pearling on my New Byzantine outfit.
*make the Lorenzo Lotto portrait pumpkin dress.
*finish a new Laurel hood.
*refurbish my elevation cloak.
*buy a new canvas tent by May.
*piddle around more with illumination.
*continue work on my A&S 50 Challenge project of making 50 bone, antler or ivory items.
*continue work on the new baronial cloaks.
*finish up the older small needlework projects in my SCA basket.

I don't make resolutions. Most are of the unrealistic sort. I'd rather just make a list and try to plow through it. So I am going to repost my "to do" list at the top of my journal and strike them out as I get them done.
