Let's See what we can do in 2009!

martelvoncI don't make resolutions. Most are of the unrealistic sort. I'd rather just make a list and try to plow through it. So I am going to repost my "to do" list at the top of my journal and strike them out as I get them done.
My plans for 2009 include-
*cut off machine stitched hem and hand sew a new hem on an old wimple.
*make new leather shoes
*Make 3 silk wimples
*Make 2 new linen barbetts. Tweak the pattern though.
started 05/08*continue working on the later period Turkish embroidery piece I have started.
started 03/02/09 *continue work on my new Elizabethan book cover project.
I want to make a real linen table cloth and napkins to use.
*finish my first pair of nalbinded socks and start another pair.
*finish the pearling and seams on my New Byzantine outfit.
*make the Lorenzo Lotto portrait pumpkin/Lucretia dress.
This is a gown I've wanted for 20 years. I've now got the silk for the gown and friends who said they would help me pattern out the bodice,
*finish a new Laurel hood. I've got the linen and the buttons purchased.
*refurbish my elevation cloak. It needs a new lining and cloak closure.
*continue work on my A&S 50 Challenge project of making 50 bone, antler or ivory items.
*continue work on the new baronial cloaks.
*Make a new 12th century gown.
Got the Material, Got the Pattern worked out. Now I need to do it. I've wanted this dress for quite a while and I will have it. Maybe a couple of different styles too.

* green and gold cotton floss braid 7' 2" long
* Green stranded silk and gold couching thread braid, 5' long (gave as gift to Lord Luke of Bright Hills)
* made first of linen napkins 10/17/09
* made 24 pairs of beeswax candles for Akiyo as trade for the silk garters she made for me. 11/01/09
* Knitted wool pouch in period Egyptian design. 12/19/09

* completed repair of toe and sole replacement of a pair of the Knight's blue hosen. 3/15/09
* re-hemmed an old veil that had some god-awful gold rickrack on it for 20 years. 03/19/09
* hemmed a triangular linen head scarf for my viking outfits. 03/20/09
* hemmed a hand woven napkin. 03/21/09
* darned the holes in the toes of my pair of gold linen hosen.
I've never successfully darned anything before. 03/21/09
* Darned a hole in the heel of the first pair of socks I ever knitted.
Not sure how I wore out one heel and not the other....03/22/09
* darned the toes in my pair of green linen hosen. 3/22/09
* darned the toe in one leg of my pair of dark tan hosen. 3/22/09
* fixed toe in remaining pair of hosen. 03/29/09
* re-hemmed a cotton wimple with the tiny rolled hem.03/30/09
I know I know but the 100% cotton is comfy.
I need to start wearing better hats and since I mostly wear earlier period, veils and wimples it is.
* re-hemmed a triangular head scarf for Norse wear. 04/04/09
* finished securing seams on plaid hangeroc 09/09 day?
* repaired 1 1/2 pairs of linen hosen. 12/2009
