Today is cake day!!!!
Today is the celebration of my 50th trip around the sun!
I was a honeymoon baby.
My parents were married Sept 15, 1958.
I was born June 25th, 1959.
Yes, the busy-body neighbors were doing the math.
When my mother went to the doctor, pre-wedding, and asked about birth control he SAID "Oh you'll be fine. Nobody gets pregnant on their honeymoon...."
Famous last words.
So here I am and I love my birthday. Getting older has never been an issue for me. If I like it or not I'm still gonna GET older.
I don't stress over my b-day. As a kid I thought I had a perfect b-day. It was always in the summer and it was always after school let out. We could have the party outside. The best!
I am 50 and vibrant and active. I still do cool things with cool friends. I go camping, I travel, I shoot archery, I can even shoot a balista and an onager. I do embroidery and do bone carving. I love to read and make things.
My health is very good even if there is more of me than in some previous years. Yet there is also less of me than in recent previous years. I'm in pretty good shape!
Though I may get older, I refuse to EVER be old.
Who's got cake?????

I hope you always feel at least 30 years younger than you are too.

Bit of a ditty
Happy Birthday!
May the Candles on your Cake
Burn like Cities in your Wake!
Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday!
(The rest here, of course)
Tune (just the chorus of this)

People can age themselves mentally and it will affect them physically - I know, I watched a boss do that to herself one year. She was 42 or 43 and quite lively. Then her daughter, who had arrived when the lady was 21, had the audacity to go and have a baby, at age 21. All of a sudden it hits her "I'm a Grandmother"! Next day she comes to work with her hair up in a grandmotherly bun, wearing much more sedate clothing and everything was prefaced with "Well, now that I'm a grandmother..." It was truly depressing to watch.
So - you just go on bein' a youngun' and have fun - you'll most likely live longer that way.
