Today is cake day!!!!

Today is the celebration of my 50th trip around the sun!

I was a honeymoon baby.
My parents were married Sept 15, 1958.
I was born June 25th, 1959.
Yes, the busy-body neighbors were doing the math.

When my mother went to the doctor, pre-wedding, and asked about birth control he SAID "Oh you'll be fine. Nobody gets pregnant on their honeymoon...."

Famous last words.

So here I am and I love my birthday. Getting older has never been an issue for me. If I like it or not I'm still gonna GET older.

I don't stress over my b-day. As a kid I thought I had a perfect b-day. It was always in the summer and it was always after school let out. We could have the party outside. The best!

I am 50 and vibrant and active. I still do cool things with cool friends. I go camping, I travel, I shoot archery, I can even shoot a balista and an onager. I do embroidery and do bone carving. I love to read and make things.

My health is very good even if there is more of me than in some previous years. Yet there is also less of me than in recent previous years. I'm in pretty good shape!

Though I may get older, I refuse to EVER be old.

Who's got cake?????

My father, who turned 70 last month, always tells me that age is between your ears. You will feel as old as you want to and nothing more. He stated that he no longer felt like a 20 year old on his birthday but closer to 40 now, darn arthritis.

I hope you always feel at least 30 years younger than you are too.

That is wise advice. In terms of my fun I will always feel about 12. :-)
