The event itself was not bad. Janos and Rachel were very regal in thier final court and I honestly believe they will be missed. Janos even shaved off his beard and moustache in honor of not being king anymore!
Thier Majesties, Robert and Denise has a grand entrance in beautiful garb of Fleur De Lis brocade. All the retainers were in blue and white and made a spectacular entrance.
The bad part of the event was the rain, and more rain and even more rain. The groud was super saturated and most of the cars not parked on the the asphalt lot got stuck in the mud. My van included. If it had not been for the kindness of House Wolfshaven and their VERY BIG pickup truck I would have STILL been stuck in the mud. And that is no lie. I would have been sleeping in the minivan as there was no way I could have gotten out on my own. I owe them a large debt that I plan on repaying in a big way.
Another big hug goes out to Baron Ivan who graciously walked ladies back and forth to the hall under his umbrella and then marched back and forth to cars to get things so that no one had to go out and get unduly wet or muddy. Baroness Ro is one lucky woman!
These acts of unselfish kindness are what make me proud to be a Bright Hillian and an Atlantian. Our Baron and Baroness hosted us all under the Baronial Pavillion as best they could under the circumstances and we had much food, fun and laughs! Thank you also to Lady Deborah who fired up her stove so we could have hot drinks and Olwens tasty shrimp!
I had a bit of a cry but it was actually because I was so relieved and grateful that I had been rescued and I wanted our B&B to know who it was that helped. So don't worry, nothing was wrong! I don't often get publicly emotional but everyonce in a while it pops out under stress.
If you want a good show wait until I get angry. Yep, it rarely happens but when it does be sure to sell tickets....
