Atlantian Crown and all that.
May. 10th, 2005 09:57 amWhew what an event!
A grand tournament with new and wonderful heirs chosen!
Vivats to Janos and Rachel!
I even had the honor of acting as a retainer for the first time to her Majesty! Elspeth had a HUGE job of scheduling and coordinating everyone so that Their Majesties would have retainers all day. She was kind and explained patiently to everyone what they needed to do.
My daughter received a Silver Nautilus for her Korean Scroll! I am very proud of her!
Daniele was made a companion of the Order of the Pearl.
Ardis and Ro became Opals! Woo Hoo!
House Wolfshaven were honored for their extraordinary service by both the Barony and the Kingdom for rescuing people from the mud at Coronation.
The Arts and Sciences displays and competition entries were awesome! I was once again amazed at the quality and diversity of work the artisans of Atlantia are capable of.
I had many volunteers who oversaw the registration and helped to set up and break down. Many hands meant light work!
We had generous patrons of the arts who sponsored many competitions. Thank you for supporting our A&S activities!
We had wonderful judges who gave up part of their day for the task of choosing the competition winners and giving of their advice in the comments.
The "How can you go?" competition was an absolute hoot! The winner ended up knitting 65 rows by 48 stitches for a total of 3120 stitches in a 2" by 2" square.
If it wasn't for these folks the A&S would not have gone as well as it did and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Some of my favorites were-
Bishop Bob and his liturgical vestments, who knew they really DID use fig leaves! ;-)
The three fingered gloves, the leather was so soft and they felt so comfortable! I want a pair for my own!
The cushions with the canvas worked slips! These were very well done and beautiful.
and on and on and on....
Most of all I'd like to thank Mesterinde Karen Larsdatter who had faith me in to handle the A&S. She checked on me and gave me advice. I am grateful for her experience.
I hope the artisans were happy, after all it is for them that we do this.
I think I will go and collapse now....
