Dramatic huh? :-)
Yes dear readers, this week we will remove the hideous holly bush in front of the house. The kids and I will cut the blasted thing down, pile it in the driveway for the Knight to cram into the noisy chipper over the next few nights.
Just because you have an open square foot of property DOES NOT mean you should plop a large bush into it. This shrub is the next to last of the problem plantings that the previous owners felt the need to decorate the property with. I'm not a gardener by any stretch of the imagination but even I know a good spot to plant and a bad one.
Pennsic is quickly coming upon us and I need to actively work on garb. The son has exactly ONE outfit that fits and Aelfwynn and I need to take in garb we already own that is too big. Yes, you heard right, TOO BIG! Now we are still plus sized women by anyone's standard BUT we have shrunk enough to have to seriously consider altering garb. Today we will pull out the BIG tubs and start to pack the garb as we fix it. The living room will take on the look of a flea market and the kids will drive me crazy with "IS IT TIME TO GO YET?!?!?!?!" Ah the Pennsic season, you gotta love it.
I also want to start a new banner for me. My last effort was a severe disappointment as the fabric I made the first one out of last year sagged so badly as to be unusable. I was POSITIVE I had cut it out correctly and not on the bias so I'm not sure what happened. I'm going to use proper art canvas and be done with it.
I'm selling stuff on Ebay to generate some spending cash for Pennsic. Mostly it's craft stuff that I haven't touched in a long time and to be honest with myself I probably will not ever touch. So off to the auction it goes. I also need to make room so that I can concentrate on the crafts I really love, medieval embroidery, costuming, drawing and painting, and silk flower arranging. But to do that I have to "let go".
Due to lack of space the drawing and painting has been neglected for a very long time and I miss it.

It's almost 8:00 and I need to russle the kids out of bed so that we can hack at the shrub before it gets too hot.
