Knitting and Knowledge
Sep. 8th, 2005 09:02 amIn my course of making many dish cloths I found a pattern that when I tried it just did not work.
I recognised the pattern from a fichu I knit about 4 months ago. It was a pattern that developes an eyelet edge along one side.
When I tried to knit according to the directions for the dish cloth I found that the directions had left out every other row needed to increase the pattern properly. Not only that but the directions given for the rows that had the increases and the decreases were VERY incorrect. It was if the designer assumed you could read her mind and just do what needed to be done!
I am pleased and feel very accomplished that I could tell what the problem was for this one pattern. Now true the pattern is done completely in garter stitch with increases and then decreases to make the design diagonally into a square with the yarn overs to make the eye let holes, but I figured it out on my own!
Ma! Look at me! Look at me! Ma!
