Since I began my new career as a stay at home/homeschooling/house keeping/ mom I've been tackling areas of our lives that have sort of fallen by the way.

1)Hubby and I are gleaning old hobbies that we no longer do but the stuff was still taking up real estate in our homes.
2)I've been organizing important papers by shreading and tossing out incredibly old stuff. We have a small safe that is not protect anything of value but so that in case of fire the paperwork is safe. It had paperwork stuff in it that was 13 years old for things we did not even own anymore! It's all now in 2 neat notebooks and is easily accessable.
3)I sorted at (least by subject) our receipts etc for 2005 so that I can do our taxes the minute the Knight gets his W2 form. I want my money back from the feds!
4)I cleaned out the Knight's closet of clothes that fit him when he weighed 290lbs but he now weighs 198lbs.
5)I've put away the summer clothes and brought out the winter clothes.
6)Gave away odds and ends of furniture that we did not use, sat around and accumulated stuff, and were worn out but useable.

The next project is to clean out the holiday decorations corner. It's funny how we hold on to the things in this arena that remind of us of our childhood. Maybe I'll get my mom to help me today when she comes over.

Over the weekend is the yearly Fall shed clean out. We pull every last item out of the shed sweep it out, throw away all the broken stuff and then put it all back neatly. There is much whining and nashing of teeth by family members at having to do this but when it is done they always like to stand and admire the neatness of it all.

All of this clearing has meant that the Knight has a large clear area for his weight bench in the back basement. Since the area is easy to move around in he is able to actually use the weight bench when he wants to.

Hmmm, next I want to buy a shelf unit for the back room to store SCA stuff on so that I can find what I want with out having to dig on the floor.

If you had known my father you would NEVER have believed that I could have fallen this far from the tree.
