Another Kingdom Crusades....
Oct. 9th, 2006 09:45 amWhew, another Kingdom Crusades has passed. I love working the A&S at events but I am so whooped afterwards.
Friday my set up went smoothly and we were all ready for the entrants when they arrived. Now It was rainy and very cold and at one point, in the middle of the night I thought I would never be warm again.
The morning proved to also be rainy and I was nervous that fighting would be moved indoors and I might have to stand my ground to preserve a decent place for my participants to display. The weather Gods smiled on me and the rain stopped and the fighters stayed out doors.
We had a very good turnout with 1 entrants from Ansteorra, 10 entrants form the East and 18 from Atlantia! We rock!
The brewing competition was a wonder to behold with a table each full of entrants for both the IKBG and the Atlantian Brewers Guild competition. I was very impressed with the participation here.
We had a very nice weaving corner that garnered alot of visits. Lady Brienna talked about floor loom weaving and hand spinning.
Class participation was light as many classes were cancelled due to scheduled teachers not attending the events.
But all in all it was an excellent A&S event at KC. If you did not get a chance to come into the main hall and see it you really missed something.
