Yesterday saw us make Chicken Rotisserie Rub and also set to marinating 14 lbs of beef for beef jerky.

Today sees us cutting, peeling and boiling 14 large oranges for candied & sugared peel.

Tommorrow will be the making of the Peanut Brittle and the orange curd (with the juice from the candied peel fruit) and the event that everyone in my family has been waiting for....

The Drying of the Beef Jerky! Yea!

I will be making lemon curd instead of orange curd because I like the taste of fresh squeezed orange juice. It will be extra tasty in the morning with my cereal and coffee.

After I finished the candied orange peel, I made the bed, got in with my ancient paperback copy of "Dune" to read for a bit and promptly feel asleep for the next 2 1/2 hours. When I reappeared at 4:00 P.M. everyone wanted to know if I was ok as I don't usually take naps.

I felt much better and wonder if I should succumb to "nap time" on a regular basis.
