May. 7th, 2007 08:16 amThis was a good weekend and Bright Hills once again was the bomb! Our presence looked great and we of course brought enough food so that everyone was satisfied.
It was cold at that site and I feel someone did not pay the heating bill for the Spring. The site itself was pretty good though. I'd go back again if it was warmer. I liked traveling through the pasture lands in a very green and remote valley in western Virginia. I traveled down with my head retainer Anne Rose Smyth and Dame Olwen the Odd. Both are hysterical. I laughed all weekend! My new tent worked great even in the rain Saturday night. Yea! All three of us had plenty of space inside too. I will be very comfortable at Pennsic this year. Dame Olwen loaned me one of her big cots and now I am a convert to XXL cots. They are so wide! I had no idea something like this could be had.
The new Baronial 20x20 got it's first use this weekend and it looked wonderful. It was also easier to put up than I thought. Master Chirhart supervised the operation and it was up in no time.
I wore for the first time an outfit made for me by someone else. It was so nice! I loved it. I've always either made my own garb or made garb FOR someone else. Lady Sweizka Kaim volunteered to take my fabric and make a new B&W viking outfit. I felt very much like a Baroness and I thank her for it!
Crown Tourny was over so fast we were all looking around and saying "OK, what do we do with our selves now?" Master Chirhart reported that the last blow was struck at 1:14pm. Yes, you read it right, 1:14pm. No dilly dallying here let me tell you.
Her Highness,bronx_baroness will make a wonderful Queen of Atlantia! Hmmmm, now my little A&S brain is spinning round and round with ideas for her! What fun this next year will be!
My Official Baronial Cabana Boy (OBCB), Cael the Vain, charmed EVERYONE! He was sweet and helpful and very courteous. Many ladies commented on how wonderful he was! He is the best. :-) He went above and beyond the call of duty in a light weight kaitin until he could stand the goosebumps no more.
elfsea_escapee and I went together to swear fealty to the Crown of Atlantia. She as a peer of the realm and me as Baroness of Bright Hills. We felt it was appropriate since I have sworn fealty to her as apprentice that we do it together. Their Majesties graciously accepted our oaths and promised their support in return.
I got to see friends and laugh and had a really good time.
