I cannot stand to hold a yard sale. When I'm ready to get rid of stuff it needs to be gone NOW. ( cut for brevity )

Ok yes, I'm Ms. Posty McPostalot today, but it's Saturday, it's my blog, so sue me. I started my taxes today, I deserve to regale you with my adventures.
Any how, I owe nice goodies to two men in my barony who did a little freelance work for me. One gentleman sharpened the sword the Knight was given as a gift when he was knighted in 1987. The other converted a belt quiver into a back quiver for me.
Being the crafty person I am I figured I would hand sew them each a 6 panel wool viking style cap. I knew just which wool I would use. I dug through my stash today and pulled out a VERY old wool t-tunic I had made back in oh, 1981(?). I loved that tunic because the fabric was faboo and it was warm and comfy. Well as these sorts of things go, I went and got, to put it delicately, fat.
I could no longer wear it.
But I was loath to give up the fabric and so I held on to this simple tunic for 27 years. Yes, you read correctly...27 years. It's older than both my kids, It's older than my marriage to the Knight. I made this when I was the seneschal of the Barony of Myrkewood...when it was part of the East Kingdom. Yep, ancient.
Someday I would make it into something. Well for old times sake and giggles I figured heck, let's try it on and see how bad it is. Lo and behold....Damn! It fits!
True, I could stand to lose another 10-15 lbs and it would fit better but I can actually wear it again! My amazement knows no bounds right now.
After being convinced that I was the butt of God's jokes this week (my new radio at work will only get two channels both of which are country/western stations). God LIKES ME he really LIKES ME! Thank you to the academy!
I think I will whip out a new linen veil to wear with it to University next weekend. Yee Ha!!
BTW: I will be making the caps out of two lovely felted merino wool sweaters that met an untimely end in the washing machine about a year ago.
