I'm into the next section, sleeves!



After talking to albreda and her suggestions for closing the sweater with two small ties instead of a button, I found I am excited about that solution.

Now I have a question for the LJ brain trust - Does anyone know of an online retailer of fancy ribbons? My local Joann's selection just does not cut the mustard for a project I'm giving as a gift.

You could try a higher-end fabrid store, such as G-Street (although the closest one to you is probaly Rockville, MD). Also, try an online search for "notions - ribbon," or even "high-end notions."

Happy to oblige - it looks adorable!

Are you going to go with a button for the inside flap, and ties for the outside, or ties for both? I'd go with ties for both, personally, but that is just me.

BTW, instead of ribbon, could you die some twill tape a pretty color? It would last longer, and the knots would both hold and come out easier than with ribbon.

Ribbon = TRIMTEX Or...you could do your own by doing cording of fingerloop braiding or kumihimo.
