Movies and Books Oh My!

martelvoncSo far this has turned out to be a very good weekend. We got to see "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" yesterday and loved it, and today "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince" came in the mail! I wasn't expecting the book until Monday! I'm already up to chapter 4!.
I have been an avid reader since I was very young. As soon as I was old enough to go by myself I started haunting the Enoch Pratt Free Library in Govens (Baltimore City), bringing tote bags full of books home. THEN I discovered that with my parents permission I could take books out of the adult Science Fiction section! Woo Hoo! Arthur C. Clark was and still is one of my favorite authors. I still judge all libraries by that branch in the city.
My kids are coming to reading a little late. Paul likes to read fantasy novels now that involve dragons in the story. Erica does not really read for pleasure much. Our house has always been full of books and trips to the library so it wasn't from lack of trying.
Ah, books! Adventures, learning, excitement and the feeling of a comfy chair, a nice lamp, and a good book!
So go out and hug a librarian today!
