The son is STILL in the hospital.

His O2 levels are fine when he is up and about but as soon as he lays down or sits and rests they plummet to 92%. This has the folks at Sinai scratching thier heads because his chest sounds fine and he looks fine. Paul is just having trouble with his saturation. It looks like he won't get much sleep tonight as they are going to wake him every time his O2 dips and give him a neb treatment.

Okay everybody sing along-

Tell old/
Pharoah/
let my dear son go.....

Maybe tomorrow he will be set free.

Hope he gets over this one soon!! That is strange, though... you'd *think* that getting active would be the thing that made the O2 drop, not going to rest...

Me too, medicine mystyfies me sometimes. At least Paul feels well. I took him his playstation games and he has a set up in his room to play.

He's bored to tears but otherwise fine.

*hugs*

I know there is nothing more I can say that I haven't already said. I remember sitting across from Paul at that Chinese restaurant when Axel and Angus and I came up there. He had eaten a bunch of shrimp? Crawdads? Anyway, he had lined their heads up in a little row between us. They were pointing my way, and I made a comment to him about them :looking at me". He grinned and turned them to look at him. And I discovered it was preferable to have them watch you... :)

Has he tried sleeping up? Maybe it's laying down that's doing it?

Hi!

They have him sleeping with the bed propped up. I came in this morning to find him bunched down on the bottom of the bed asleep. :-)

They said it's normal for a persons O2 level to drop a bit when sleeping but not as much as his is. Poor guy he's so bored.

I had to laugh though, kids actually do pay attention to what we tell them. For example a 16 year old came in early this morning with wheezing and was put in Paul's room. This kid is not only an asthmatic but he smokes too! Paul commented that smoking was really dumb especially if you can't breath right to start with! He also commented that he would never take up smoking not only because of his breathing problems but because it was too darn expensive.

*sniff* I'm so proud!
