We just returned from the first of our twice yearly homeschool reviews for this school year.
I've learned a few things since the first one in the fall of 2004.

1) Be nice to the reviewer and by gum they will be nice to you.
2) The reviewer in NOT out to get you.
3) Review 1) and 2)again.
4) If you go in with all of the information about your curriculum, texts, and activities neatly typed you DO NOT have to haul in every book you use. Nor will you have to remember, or write anything down.
This makes you VERY popular with the reviewers. Don't worry, in Baltimore County they don't require this nor do they ask to keep it. They are just glad you brought all the information they needed and it was easy to read.
5) You only have to bring 2 or 3 examples of your childs work from each subject. The reviewers get funny looks on thier faces when you bring in milk crates full of stuff. (I've seen it) If you take along the binder they use anyway you are covered.

We were in and out in 15 minutes and so far it has been that way every time. Now if you have more than one child in different grade levels it will take a bit longer to review each childs records but still, go in organised and you will leave in a flash.

That is my bit of unsolicited wisdom of the day.
