Geezy Creezy but was it hot!
Fortunately I tolerated the heat well. I drank water like a fish, ate lightly, and was fine. I am a summer person and would rather battle the heat than the bitter cold.
Camping with Schola Pantera was the bomb! Duke Badouin and his squires were so helpful with setting up and breaking down the 20x20 pavilion on the list field. I literally could not have done it without them. Poof! it was up and then Poof! it was down. Amazing.
I was gob smacked at all the help Anne Rose and I got with unloading the truck and setting up our tent in the dark Friday night. All of the Pantera household came out of the woodwork and we were ready to have fun in less than an hour. They all ROCK! We stayed up until 2am talking and laughing and eating the traditional charred flesh cooked by his Excellency, Baron Erwin of Dun Carraig. Life does not get much better than that.
Saturday night
elfsee_escapee took
ladygriele as her apprentice. Such a party! Their Majesties, Valharic and Arielle came to witness the ceremony. It was very nice and moving.
ladygriele will make a good apprentice sister!
I had the most fun at the 5 man melee tournament on Sunday. The teams were given points for all sorts of team activities.
Best Heraldic Presense
Did the team have any Baronage fighting on it?
Did the team have cheering supporters?
Did the team have a pet?
Did the team have a herald?
Best cheering by the supporters and on and on.
It was so much fun being a cheering supporter for the Scholar Pantera team! We got extra points for doing the "wave" in one round and then doing two different cheers in another round! LOL! Another team was given a point for providing duct tape to Duke Badouin to fix his armor. So much fun!
The site was pretty good too. I've never been here before and they had FLUSH potties! yea! The stalls were a bit short, obviously made for kids or very short adults. Some hilly areas but not too bad for camping.
So good friends, good fun= good event in my book.
I think I will go next year.:-)
