Pennsic was wet, very wet, & muddy, very muddy. But Good Googlie Mooglies was it fun!!

Tomorrow I have to clean out the truck and will post more.

Now it's time to go to bed...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.......

welcome home! I imagine, with all that was going on (some of which I've heard about and some which I'm sure I will eventually) you did have a grand time! How was your first pennsic as a Laurel??? :)

Lots went on-

Chirhart was was a Pearl for his cooking.
Catherine Grace Fitzlewis was made a Pearl
Alina Silverthorne was made a Pearl

Molly was elevated.
Two of Mistress Jessamyn apprenti were given writs, Louise de La Mare and I can see his face but his name has escaped me.
Dunstan le Heryngmonger was set on vigil to be elevated at Sacred Stone

Mistress Jessamyn was made a Court Baroness...

It just goes on and on as it will with Pennsic and a week to get all sorts of court business done.

I did not witness any drama and was not a part of any drama. So it was a very good Pennsic week.

Hmmmmm, as for being a Laurel, not much was different really. My friends still greeted me cheerily. I felt kind of guilty buying a few Laurel trinkets. I'm not used to being allowed to wear the bling. It still feels a bit weird. Maybe I need to make something over the top to get the new off of me!

The biggest difference was as Territorial Baroness. My station received respectful greetings and deference. That is still taking getting used to gracefully but I hope my behavior and demeanor is what people expect from a Baroness without seeming to be snooty or unapproachable. Most days however I feel like an unruly six year old! :=)

I dunno... I think this was one of those very spacey Wars between things. I was sitting at the Beast and Boar with Ryan, rlg, and some other lady at one point, and finally said aloud: "You know I forgot to remind Kirsten at Fabric Dragon about the Known World Scribal Gathering."

The lady (directly on my left) turned to me and said "You forgot to remind me of what?"

*snort, facepalm, giggle*

Seriously though, hopefully we can get together next War, if not sooner. Kingdom Crusades is still on the schedule for us, although I know we'll be missing you, Glynis.

We're on TRH's entourage, when they are TRM... Ryan is on the guard, I'm a courtesan... Which is really cool because amykb is on TRH's entourage too, down there. :)

Plus it doesn't hurt that my younger brother lives 45 minutes from the site.

I'll be at KC since it is still held in BH but I will just day trip each day instead of camping. I only live about an hour away from the site.

Would you like to have lunch with us at KC? I hear we put on a pretty good spread! ;-) This year we are not doing the public lunch just BH and invited guests.

That sounds like a plan. I don't plan on being much more than Her Highness' courtesan that day (one of a few), so if there's a gap (which is likely to happen, we are working in shifts I hear), we can do that. :)

If it doesn't happen though, I would still like to hang out with you guys at some point during the day, if even for a moment.

Thanks! I had a great time when I wasn't dodging rain storms. I did very well in the heat. My philosophy is to drink lots at every chance and don't worry about food so much if I don't feel like eating in the heat(after all I would not be harmed by a missed meal or two...).

That being said I was glad to go to Pennsic but I am glad to be home again!

I did a lot better overall in the heat this year than I did the last two. But apparently I was getting eaten alive at night by spiders or something, and heat rash where I sit so I didn't do quite as well there.

I bought the free refill mug from Beast and Boar... filled up on lemonade every time I went by - and I didn't even break the mug like I was afraid I would! That mug paid for itself within 2 days.
