I will not be at Assesments.

This is because I can be with Their Majesties when they assess thier troops and for their curia
OR
I can oversee the competition that chooses Their Majesties new Archery Champion.

Seeing that my group is hosting the Championship this year I will be having a great deal of fun seeing what new and cool course that Lord Seamus has come up with this year.

If there are enough arrows I'm going to bring [livejournal.com profile] ocean_storm's archery equipment and try my hand at it! She has a 25# bow that I should be fine with, not accurate mind you, but I should still be able to have a good time!

My del is done! I'll try to remember to get photos tommorrow.

I haven't decided if I can make it or not. Shooting arrows with a toddler in tow can be...challenging.

Jurgen is going to Assesments so forcing asking him to babysit is out of the question.

And most of my arrows have no tips, so it may be pointless! hee-hee

Have a great time! (But who ever put Kingdom Archery Championships up against Assessments in the first place???)

We had KAC on the calendar first then Assesments needed to change their date. Usually Asessments in July.

Yeah, I suppose I should be thankful that Assessments wasn't put up against Storvik Novice Tourney.... :-P

I have a question about your champion competition... Do you have crossbows and hand bows competing head to head or do your sort them out somehow? We've had them head to head in the Outlands for years but are being asked to look into other options. I just wondered how another kingdom championship was being handled.

They compete together on the same range.

In Atlantia everyone shoots the exact same course at the same time. Kids, adults, novices, experts, all shoot the course together though we do break folks up into groups to start the course at different points to keep things moving. We tend to get large turnouts for this shoot.

You declare at the beginning of the day if you are competing for the championship. There is a shoot off at the end of the day for the highest scorers who are shooting to be the Kings Champion.

This means that someone could have the highest score over all but not be the Kings Champion unless they are competing for it.

We offer prizes not only for the Champion but for high scorers in different catagories too.

It's been great fun to attend this event.

A whole course? Wow! Is there a web site where I can read more about that? This actually sounds like a more practical thing than anything we've had suggested so far!

We do a tourney that can be completed in an hour or two, held at two separate events on the same weekend. The turnout has been falling off over the last few years and we're trying to revitalize things.
