I will share with you my shame and eventual motivation. cross posted at

I've been working at dealing with all the laundry baskets, boxes, & baskets of collected junk that had accumulated. My usual cleaning method is to grab a laundry basket and sweep all the junk into it and then deal with it later. As you can see later was REALLY later, like 6 months later.
I got started last evening and was up until midnight because I was suddenly motivated.
I've cleared out and put away-
3 laundry baskets
1 Ikea blue bag
1 copy paper box
2 lg SCA baskets
1 paper shoe box
2 sm SCA baskets and
a small cardboard box that I ended up filling again with recycling paper.
Among the junk I found-
*My wedding ring that I lost at Highland River Melees, plus the two other favorite rings that were with it,
*My norse jewelry that had gone missing into a zip lock bag,
*My embroidery scissors
*3 hosen legs that I needed to repair but could not find
*1 pair of dirty hosen I took off at Novice and could not find in the junk baskets, Ewwww!!!!
*my baronial arms hand fan that got buried in the stuff,
*bags of charms I had purchased on Ebay in MAY for making SCA tokens but could not find,
*1 crossbow bolt that was a gift from Valharic to a member of our barony who has not been back due to family responsibilities.
*Various small SCA projects that I regathered into a basket for working on.
I need to stop using laundry baskets for cleaning and just put s**t away, right away. (sorry about the language) I would save myself so much aggravation searching for things that aren't where they are supposed to be.
An added benefit is that my sewing table is now clear and I can start on my new coronation garb. An added deficit is that now that the floor is clear I can see all the dog hair I need to vacuum up before I start to sew....sigh. But things look less junky and stuff is in it's general homes.
