Last night I stayed over in my Mom's apartment here at the village due to the weather forcast. It's nice having a mom who lives where you work. Now it is snowing. It does look pretty here but I'm sure it's going to get ugly soon. I might stay over again tonight depending on the road conditions come about 3p.m. I'd rather be home but since I'm here and have somewhere comfortable to stay I might as well stay and then there is coverage for the switchboard in the morning. We will see.
I did bring my box of largess and token supplies and some knitting so I have something to pass the time. Years of always carrying something to do in case of emergency has served me well yet again. I can usually pull out knitting, needlework or a book out of my totes.
When Paul was little and we were dealing with his GI and Respiratory issues, we spent A LOT of time in hospitals, doctor offices, and emergency rooms. I learned to always have a tote bag packed of activites for him and me waiting by the front door. Being prepared made spending all of that waiting time a bit more bearable. Everyone in the medical profession we dealt with thought I had such a well behaved son under such stressful circumstances because he was so patient.
Little did they suspect the powerful power of a tote filled with fresh crayons, coloring books, current comic books, hand held video games, action figures, and VCR tapes!
Oh yea and because of that I can still sing the ALL the words to the Mickey Mouse song "Minnie's Yoo Hoo". (The theme music at the end of the Original Mickey Mouse Club)
